@Majorsite we're not talking about rational thinking people. These people aren't walking into these situations thinking about consequences. These are people who have gone off the deep end and weapons designed for war are available to them.
When the gun manufacturer was sued by the Sandy Hook parents their whole defense was the guns they make are designed for soldiers, not civilians.
That doesn't explain why it only happens here among developed nations.

You haven't been paying attention, have you? Most mass shooting end with suicide by cop. Mass shooters don't have a getaway plan. Your penalties don't scare them at all.

@ElwoodBlues No, other countries have them, not as often as we do. Less in Australia, but they stripped people of their guns. Now they're pushed around by the govt with little recourse.
@Expressman Other developed countries have a few; we have YUGE numbers of mass shootings.
