Why do pro-Gunists still defend guns despite all the mass shootings and school shootings?

There was another shooting in a Chesapeake Walmart a week ago over a dispute.

Its never going to sink in to the advantage US citizen that guns are a problem, maybe if one day some high up politicians children are shot dead things will change but until then the killings will continue and maybe more often.
