Watching the new Madeleine McCann documentary

@DearAmbellina2113 now I have a child of my own, I can understand much better just absolutely insincere they are. Just the fact that apparently Kate immediately "howled" when she found Madeleine's bed empty. She knew perfectly well she was dead.

@Starsandfire I believe they arranged to have someone abduct her, but then she was accidentally killed and so they had to make up a whole new story.

@DearAmbellina2113 why would they have to change the story if she died rather than being abducted?

@GeniUs if she had been abducted, there would have been no body, no blood, etc. They could have just cried "kidnapped" and nothing else would have come of it. They wouldn't have remained suspects. Instead, she died, which complicated their kidnapping story. Cadaver dogs picked up Madeleine's scent in 3 places in the apartment. So the kidnapping story had holes in it.

@DearAmbellina2113 This is exactly the sort of misunderstanding I've discussed before, cadaver dogs pick up cadaverine which comes from dead flesh, you can't tell whose dead flesh or whether it is raw meat or some people give it off if they are being treated with certain drugs for cancer etc These dogs are used in the hope that they will lead the handler to a body or more evidence, the positive detections in themselves are not evidence.

@GeniUs Human flesh produces over 400 bad smelling chemicals when it is dead. Cadaver dogs are extensively trained as puppies and are very reliable.

Blood was also found in the rental car belonging to her parents.

@SW-User Cadaver or blood dogs do not produce evidence they produce indicators which hopefully will lead to evidence. They are used to track the smell of cadaverine which will hopefully lead to evidence, clues or even a body. The McCanns responses to being told that the dogs had detected scents in the chalet they used was much more telling than the indicators found by the dogs but it is not evidence just very suspicious.

@GeniUs You do not need to state the obvious. I know what cadaver dogs do. As I said, they can smell hundreds of chemicals, including cadaverine, when they are in the vicinity of a dead human body or a place where there was a dead human body. I am saying they are very reliable at this.

@SW-User my point is they detect things other than decomposing bodies too which may give a false reading. Sorry if you misunderstood my words to be stating the obvious but I've just had to reiterate my point to you again.

@GeniUs They are trained to alert to human flesh. I repeat: HUMAN flesh. What do you think happens when they have to detect human flesh while out in nature? They are often used in nature. Killers bury and drop their victims in isolated areas with wildlife. Some of this will be dead wildlife, but a cadaver dog will ignore it. It is looking for human flesh. If some pieces of animal flesh had for some reason been placed in the bedroom and by sofa in the living room and then removed, they would not have alerted. These are the two places in the apartment the cadaver dog got excited in.

You can train a dog significantly better than you can train a human. We use dogs for the blind and the sick. They are very intelligent. We should also keep in mind that the apartments of their friends were checked, and the dogs did not alert to anything in them. It was only the apartment being used by the parents of the missing child.
