Do you believe in it? If that final decision was solely up to you, could you sentence a person to death ?(For the most heinous crime that you can imagine)

I don’t think it has ever worked as a deterrent for crime, but it has been used to wield political power. So my answer is no, but I think all convicted if life sentences should be allowed to elect that option if they found that the better alternative.
