Update to old post - Domestic Violence Trigger Warning!
I posted this in 2015, most likely it transferred over from my EP archive when everything was moved to SW. It was categorized to I Hate Domestic Violence.

Recently someone I know got arrested for domestic violence. I wasn't close to him but I have a few friends who are.
Our town is kind of small. It's even smaller to the ones who grew up here and never moved away. He was one of those. He had the picture perfect family and lived in one of the best neighborhoods. Him and his siblings were all popular in school and very attractive.
After this incident occurred the community has reacted in very mixed ways. It's bringing up so many biases and controversy. His family say the allegations are false. His friends say he is innocent until proven guilty. Others are calling him a monster. Some are saying he should be killed. Then there are those who are saying she was just as crazy as him or she had to have some part in it. Since he has been arrested before for assaulting her many people are saying she should have expected it and it's her fault for not leaving.
The incident I was talking about here is the report of a female running up to the apartment manager all beat up. She was telling him that her husband had kept her tied in their apartment for a week. She was only able to escape after he had taken her to the car, tied her to the inside door handle, and said he was going to take her to the river and drown her. She'd managed to undo her bindings and run for help. Here's a link to that story https://katu.com/news/local/hes-going-to-kill-me-albany-husband-accused-of-kidnap-rape
The update:
After I posted that, a few months later the husband had all the charges dismissed except for tampering with a witness. Her husband said she'd been violent toward him and supposedly had a video of her injuring herself. After that she retracted her statements. Here's that link https://www.statesmanjournal.com/story/news/crime/2015/12/02/false-accusations-lead-reduced-charges-albany-man/76680696/]
In January of 2020 she goes missing. There is an investigation with her husband as the main suspect. He had been moving her things to a storage unit using a U-Haul. They found blood splatters matching her DNA on the inside roof of the U-Haul. He had also borrowed a power saw from a friend of his. The owner of the power saw noticed that something was on it and took it to police as evidence. The power saw had human tissue on it that matched the DNA of his wife. https://katu.com/news/local/missing-albany-womans-husband-faces-murder-charge-after-her-dna-found-on-saw
He was convicted in October of 2024 for the murder of his wife.
