Ever heard of forest crimes?

Our old-grown forests are the target of timber thieves, and natural resources officials are losing ground in fighting to protect the trees being felled for easy 💰 Comments?

That is terrible, but with modern equipment it ought be easier to spot what's happening where even in the vast forests of the North American continent, and go in to destroy the thieves' vehicles and equipment where they stand, and arrest the thieves themselves.

Or perhaps keep watch and ambush them when they emerge onto the roads - which would save having to recover the wreckage from deep within forests.

It also needs the support of arresting the thieves' first-line customers on the charge of handling stolen goods (or whatever would be the equivalent), and closing their businesses.
