We sometimes sleep with unlocked doors here 😧

@greensnacks Back in 1975 my sister was about 8 and a half months pregnant. She fell asleep on her sofa and her husband was laying on the floor and fell asleep. Neither one locked the door in their apartment. She woke up with a strange feeling. Opened her eyes and there was a man standing over her looking down at her belly. She let out a blood-curdling scream and her husband woke up and grabbed something to hit him with and he shot out of the apartment like a bullet. Can you imagine someone being sold bold as to walk in an apartment and do that with her husband laying on the floor? She said she had heard some women in the laundromat there talking about a peeping Tom that had been looking in windows in the area in the past few weeks.

@cherokeepatti that's so scary.
But I in fact, can imagine many people doing that.
We just live not in the city here and have lots of dogs on the way and some other stuff to stop an intruder, no matter how silent. And we don't have much crime here, thankfully. Most of the crime is done in the city and it's still rare.

@greensnacks Didn’t take long for her to go into labor after that, she was really upset.

@greensnacks This city has become a haven for transients, some are sent here from California so they don’t have to deal with them. They’ll tell them that Oklahoma offers better medical benefits than California. When they can’t get into a shelter and want to get away from sleeping outdoors they’ll go to the ER complaining of this or that and get admitted. A nurse told me when I was there in October that was the reason why the beds are so uncomfortable, she said they’d never leave if they made it comfortable for them. They got a nice tv in each room and they can call in off the menu and order room service from it…and they offer a lot of desserts & other things. Even have lounges on each floor if they want to walk over there and get coffee or other drinks and wrapped snacks. So everyone else who needs to be in the hospital has to suffer from those beds because of what they are doing.
