Laundry theft

At the apartment block I live in we have a laundry room in the basement.

People steal -

Soap powder
Softener
Lint
t-shirts
towels
socks
and even
underwear!

Like, who does that?????

Yep, i lived in an apartment building. I had to start wash my underwear in my sink.

“Borrowing” detergent or fabric softener for a load is forgivable IMO.
Taking clothing is stealing .

Yes, that's a crime, some people steal perhaps to sell them because they need money. It's creepy if they wear them 😬

In a way, I feel pity for them being too poor to buy clothes but it's not right to steal from others , that's just wrong.

@Wol62 When I lived in the US years ago (I lived in New York and also New Jersey later on) I also lived at an apartment block where we had a laundry room in the basement too but we were given a key to enter the room...that helped preventing stealing from going on. I hope your community service can find a solution quick.
