Apparently there is more to the plea than what it appears.
I have tried to plea guilty to shit I did and wasn't embarrassed of and once even had a judge himself reject the plea.
Now, truthfully, I don't understand the plea refusal but I think it has something to do with being tried for the crime you committed rather than the one you were accused of.
For instance. You beat the love out of a pain in the ass. He presses charges. The charge is assault.
So, you did it, so you plead guilty. They reject it and take you to trial any way only to find out you were actually guilty of battery not assault.
I think that's what it's all about.
