@pancakeslam This ruling was upholding the INITIAL charges trump indeed did rape and defame E. Jean Carroll.. The second time he went to court for defaming her again..........actually on the same day he got this verdict.........the jury upped the damages amount to $85 million to shut him up. Since the initial findings stand...........automatically this disqualified him from appealing the second trial and verdict. So he owes her $89 million.

@anythingoes477 honestly do you want to live in a country where a form of speech or defamation is punished that severely? I don't. forget about your hatred of Trump for a moment

@pancakeslam Actually I do. No one is found guilty of freedom of speech. Only when they use that freedom to abuse or cause Harm to someone else. Like Guiliani,,,,and trump does. Then hell yeah.

@anythingoes477 defamation is a form of speech. the rulings shouldn't be disproportionate IMHO. but punishing Trump with fines isn't going to work against a billionaire

@pancakeslam Depends on the harm that "form of speech" causes. A jury decided that trump caused $89 million dollars worth of harm. And a jury thought Guiliani caused $147 million dollars worth of harm. In both cases what they said drew death threats to the people they were defaming.
