Supreme Court Reaches Majority Decision on Roe vs. Wade. Insidiuous Soon to be EX-Lawyer LEAKS the brief in process to Politico.

The "sanctity" of the Supreme Court has been violated in the worst possible way. I hope the person who stole a copy of the brief and leaked it feels it was worth being disbarred and fired...and possibly jailed. The FBI will be looking into it now.

[big]IF the decision on the brief is the majority decision, then EACH STATE will have the power to decide whether or not abortions will be legal inside their state. [/big]

That's the way it was fifty years ago, and that decision making power will return to each state. THAT is constitutional.

To much of Europe which sweeps the topic of abortion under a carpet, events in the US are one of the few and really important reminders that the society we inhabit — which we’re told [we must!] celebrate as the most liberated, kind, rich and civilised imaginable (and certainly better than we're told the US is) — is actually built on a growing pile of "disposable" human beings.

@Persephonee They used to call the USA and ALL of our European allies "The Free World". Imagine that. Now we have to question whether or not the lawless few will dominate the majority simply because they cheat, and are lawless, and loud.

@4meAndyou The notion of the 'Free World' was always really just rhetoric, which started to be used at the time that Joe McCarthy was inventing communists to persecute (though I'll grant not all his accusations were without foundation), and the British government was refusing to end the use of ID cards which were meant to be enforced only during WW2, and merrily forced gay men to have hormone therapy if they wanted to avoid prison.

Who called us the Free World? Mostly the people who made sure we never were as free as we might be.

We are free at least when we go to a heavenly reward. I try to focus on that.
