I Question The Age Of Consent

Everything should be questioned.

There's a perfectly good reason to have AOCs but like all received wisdom it should be challenged and tested to see if it's still relevant. Maybe it is. But maybe it isn't.

Apart from anything else, it's so routinely and consensually flouted that having one is kind of silly.

times change and so do attitudes. I left school at 15 and had to go to work. At that age you was an adult but now its more like 18.

@nevergiveup yeah. It's hypocritical. On the one hand "noooo we don't want you to grow up so we'll make X y and z illegal", and on the other "you've got to be more responsible and plan for your future"

One or the other, governor, please. 🙄

@Habby i have seen so many changes over the years. As a child and into my teens getting spanked and a good belting was a common thing now its abuse. Girls was getting pregnant and having kids at 13. Now a boy can get arrested for underage sex

Age 10 upwards many are perfectly capable of "adult" behaviours.
