ICE kills another innocent person

A high-speed chase this morning resulted in the death of a local schoolteacher when a suspected illegal immigrant fleeing ICE crashed into her car. The Savannah police have a rule against high-speed chases on surface streets, but apparently ICE felt the need to spice things up. The immigrant may have fled out of fear that ICE would kill him, not unreasonable given recent events in Minneapolis. Now an innocent person is dead and the immigrant will be staying in the US for the foreseeable future as an inmate.

I'm sure that the Trump fluffers will say that the guy shouldn't have fled, and he's responsible for crashing into the schoolteacher's car, and all of that is true. However, ICE shouldn't have chased him as that only exacerbated the situation. If they knew what car he was driving, they knew where he lived and could have picked him up there, unless this was a random traffic stop because the driver looked Latino.

Are we winning yet? I'm getting tired of so much winning.

The article says the man had no criminal record in Savannah; he was only being chased because he was an illegal immigrant. ICE supporters continuously claim that everyone ICE is going after is a murderer or rapist, and that is being proven false over and over.

Police chases, when they occur here, generally involve violent offenders, people who may have just committed a violent crime or are armed. Police chases are inherently dangerous and they do sometimes injure or kill bystanders. There was no need for this to be a chase, but ICE is all about being heavy-handed and making a "show of force".

@Prison1203 So obvious that you guys just want a group of people you're allowed to hate and dehumanize. That's really all it is about.
Prison1203 · 61-69, M
@WestonTexan no, I have plenty of people that I am allowed to hard and dehumanize, they are called democrats, and they dehumanize themselves, so I don’t have to worry about them
@Prison1203 So if you or someone in your family had been killed during this chase, you'd be fine with that because it was in pursuit of an illegal immigrant.

@WestonTexan No,what it's all about is removing people from the country who have no business bring in the country .Their skin color is irrelevant.

When will they deport Keith Rupert Murdoch, Soros, Musk, and the orange traitor's wife?

@DavidT8899 I have very different ideas about who has no business being here and who is making this country worse.

Also, I did not mention skin color. That is not the only basis on which a person can be dehumanized. Legal status is absolutely one. Even the rhetoric used when discussing them gives up the game.
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@WestonTexan Whatever your ideas are about who should or shouldn't be here ,the law is the law.And your other argument is a tried and false one .No one is denying an illegals humanity; they just can't stay in the country .
WestonTexan · 18-21, M
@DavidT8899 The way they are being treated and talked about is dehumanizing, and that is obvious.

This is about far more than what the law is.
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@WestonTexan Actually ,it's not .The law is the law ,no matter what you think of it .And I notice you never talk about the victims of illegal alien crime .Go to one of the " Angel Moms" and talk to them about how illegal immigration is a victimless crime .
WestonTexan · 18-21, M
@DavidT8899 Right, because you only care about crime when the person who committed it is someone you’re allowed to hate. Which brings me back to my original point. 🤷🏼‍♂
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
So using your " logic" if a white American citizen committed some sort of heinous crime ,you think that I wouldn't want the person punished ?( And a side point : it seems that you don't care about a crime when it's committed by someone you are determined to champion.😉)
WestonTexan · 18-21, M
@DavidT8899 I think you wouldn't give it undue attention.

Disagreeing that ICE should be rounding up illegal immigrants in a heavy-handed manner and shooting people in the streets is not me saying that an illegal immigrant who commits a crime shouldn't be arrested (and deported as a consequence).
