Why are Republicans defending the killing of Alex Pretti?

One of my old school conservative friends on Facebook (not a Trump supporter) commented the above question. It seems clear to me that Pretti cooperated with ICE and was executed. I can think of a few possible explanations why Republicans would rationalize this instead of just agreeing that ICE made a mistake, but each one feels like it’s only part of the answer. What’s the heart of the matter?

Virgo 79, who blocks me asks
Why would you go into a riot situation with a gun?
Gotta be a reason

(1) There was no riot, no protest, just a group of observers with cameras.
(2) People exercise their freedoms every day; no need for explanation.
(3) Guns are brought to right-wing protests on a regular basis, and tRumpsters have never argued with them! For example:

'Operation Gridlock': Convoy in Michigan's capital protests stay-at-home orders, Apr 15, 2020

Right-wing protesters at a COVID lockdown protest April 30 2020, Lansing Mich

Supporters of President Donald Trump rally outside the Maricopa County Recorder's Office, Friday, Nov. 6, 2020, in Phoenix.

'Stop the Steal' protest, Jan 6 2021, Olympia Wash

Mich State Capitol protestors April 2020
@ElwoodBlues Then, of course, there’s Kyle Rittenhouse, darling of Trump and the MAGAS, who brought an AR-15 to a BLM rally and wasn’t even stopped by the police ! And he killed people there, which was obviously just what he had intended to do. 🤬
