Now my organization is under a partial lockdown in response to ICE activity in the area

This means the casino and lodge will still be open, but in the same capacity as it was during the 2020 lockdown. All employees are under strict orders not engage with any ICE agents if approached and even stricter orders not to grant them access to areas of the complex that aren't accessible to the public. I work in procurement for my organization and we're still allowed to make deliveries within the complex, so that makes us more likely to be approached by ICE while we're out and about. Being the third manager of the department, I went and rallied everyone this morning to provide instructions on what to do if approached by an ICE agent that wasn't covered in the email sent out this morning. I don't expect any of us to be approached by ICE should they turn up again, but in the event that they are, I made doubly sure everyone knows what to do: to exercise their right to silence and unless they're being detained, to just walk away and avoid interacting with them as much as possible. If they are detained, to stay calm and not resist, but also to not answer questions, not consent to searches and demand to speak with a lawyer. None of us have anything to hide from ICE, but that's not the point. We have rights and we have to look out for our employees and both will be defended should either be challenged during this ongoing business. Just hope it can be over with soon.

It's hard to believe this is really happening. Scary
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
Does that even make sense? Honest question. Baffled by the actions on both sides.

Time to mobilize; time for war.

No sympathy for illegal criminals.
@Strictgram says
Constitution does not apply
!!! DEAD WRONG !!!

The US Constitution says
... nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law ...

Any person. That means every human being in the US gets due process including criminals, "illegal aliens" etc etc; that's exactly what the law is saying.

Need to see what SCOTUS has ruled??
Shaughnessy v. United States ex rel. Mezei, 345 U.S. 206, 212 (1953); see also Mathews v. Diaz, 426 U.S. 67, 77 (1976) ("There are literally millions of aliens within the jurisdiction of the United States. The Fifth Amendment, as well as the Fourteenth Amendment, protects every one of these persons from deprivation of life, liberty, or property without due process of law."); Plyler v. Doe, 457 U.S. 202, 215 (1982) (holding that unlawfully present aliens were entitled to both due process and equal protection under the Fourteenth Amendment).

Here's a bit more from Mathews v. Diaz 1976 including citations of prior rulings.
There are literally millions of aliens within the jurisdiction of the United States. The Fifth Amendment, as well as the Fourteenth Amendment, protects every one of these persons from deprivation of life, liberty, or property without due process of law. Wong Yang Sung v. McGrath, 339 U. S. 33, 339 U. S. 48-51; Wong Wing v. United States, 163 U. S. 228, 163 U. S. 238; see Russian Fleet v. United States, 282 U. S. 481, 282 U. S. 489. Even one whose presence in this country is unlawful, involuntary, or transitory is entitled to that constitutional protection. Wong Yang Sung, supra; Wong Wing, supra.

Even one whose presence in this country is unlawful, involuntary, or transitory is entitled to that constitutional protection.

Thank you, SCOTUS for being clear, unambiguous, and leaving zero wiggle room.

I support ICE 100%.
The behavior of ICE is a criminal violation of the Constitution. Why do you support criminals??

@Strictgram If it takes 20 million or 100 billion, no matter.
Everyone is guaranteed due process.
Innocent until proven guilty.
Remember that?
You're a Law and Order type, right?
