They grow a huge percentage of our food supply, have the 4th largest GDP in the world, and have massive strategic value in terms of ports and military bases.

Losing California would bode disastrous for the rest of the US. Trump not getting his way would be the dumbest possible excuse to shoot ourselves in the foot with a move like that
