Have you ever known an incident where cops were called on either an abusive or crazy person.

Then once they arrived, the cops overlooked the incident because the abuser played innocent and contained his composure while they were there? I know of 2 recent incidents like this. I really think police training needs to go a little deeper into psychology.

Yes, a few times my mother was uncontrollably in a rage, screaming at my sister and I and threatening us, just a horrible nightmare.Throwing things, it is awful. The cops were called , and each time, she was composed and managed to appease them and convince them it was just a minor thing. I should have been taken away as a child b/c her abuse ruined my entire being. Every part of my life is small now due to it. And it is VERY hard to heal.

Trouble is the Police have neither the time nor the spaces to do much about it.

Dozens of YouTube videos on exactly this type of behaviour usually under the heading of 'Karen's'.

But yes people should be called out on unacceptable behaviour.

Better would be to have a different agency to handle reoccurring cases. Policing should be on the spot handling of a occuring incident. They then can hand it off to properly trained people. Then be on policing incidents.

This is a tricky situation if you’re talking about mental health. There is certain criteria that has to be met for them to take action if there isn’t a law violation. The mentally ill still have constitutional protections.
Yeah it happened to me when I was younger. She played herself as a victim and now someone else is my mom. By the time the police paid attention, they realized that they made a big mistake. it did cost some officers their careers
