They're easier to handle with if they can't move their hands around.

My guess is so that they don’t runoff and try to kill them self.

because they would get in trouble if they shot them.

@originnone Yet there are instances where they have shot handcuffed detainees. In a couple of cases the excuse was that they "accidentally reached for the gun instead of the taser". Which begs the question of why a person with hands cuffed behind his/her back would need to be tased.

@bijouxbroussard Fair point...I would hope that before they allow someone to carry a gun they would be trained to know the difference between a gun and a taser....

Am I the one who thinks WTF to this question?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic I agree it sounds fucked up.
Because they don't give a flying fuck about people in general. Us and Them.

They handcuff everyone for their own safety.
Chances are, if you don't value your life, you don't really value other lives.
It also makes escape harder, esp, when cuffed behind the back.
When I started talking to people about my suicidal thoughts, one guy said I should take a bunch of people with me.
Some people are fucked.

To prevent them doing something stupid, like threatening the officer so that he shoots them - suicide by cop.
