Do countries that implement the death penalty only do it to their own citizens?

Why did I ask this question?
We don't have the death penalty in our country and I want to know if I can get this sentence if I go to a country where this penalty is applied and commit a crime. Excuse my curiosity and sorry if I said something wrong, English is not my native language

if you go to the US there are 50 states - many do not have the death penalty

but if you commit a murder in Florida you can be sentenced to death regardless of the name of the country on your passport.

of course it may take 20 years to get the sentence carried out - and women are less likely to be executed.
