Do countries that implement the death penalty only do it to their own citizens?

Why did I ask this question?
We don't have the death penalty in our country and I want to know if I can get this sentence if I go to a country where this penalty is applied and commit a crime. Excuse my curiosity and sorry if I said something wrong, English is not my native language

In some countries, I think you can get the death penalty for reading the Bible, or some other innocuous act, so yes, it happens to non citizens.
