Well, I asked before…I wonder if those screaming to defund the police are aware of “ these police” now here…and if they’ll lash out against them, too?

@soar2newhighs Nice red herring.
@LordShadowfire The “ red”
Part true. Herring? Not so sure.
It is a fact and not new that this is a practice by the CCP. But you make your own conclusions.

@soar2newhighs You are distracting from the fact that you misunderstand the "defund the police" movement by bringing up Chinese activity on American soil. That's a red herring, a distraction in order to avoid a topic you don't want to discuss anymore.

@soar2newhighs 99% of the time, people do this because they realize they have misunderstood or failed to defend their position on a topic. It's intellectually dishonest.
@LordShadowfire It’s part sarcasm. But trust me, these people wanting to defund the police, certainly wouldn’t want to live under this type “police” rule.
I say do not defund the police.
Sorry the sarcasm flew over your head.

@soar2newhighs I'm just used to people who distract from the topic at hand with irrelevant bullshit.
So if you want to talk about defunding the police, let's talk about it. I'll begin by asking you a simple question. What's your understanding of the defund the police movement? What do you consider to be its purpose? (I promise I will do my best not to insult you for your answer.)

@LordShadowfire My understanding is that many people see police agencies as controllers/enforcers. Many consider police agencies as racist. Many do not want or feel they need policing agencies and in lieu of that would want to see some form of social worker/ community activist types get involved in circumstances where police are called.
Many want to see the funding of police agencies be cut so those cut funds could be Re directed to various social programs. And many live in fear of the “militarization”of local and state police agencies. ( some were “ militarized” , but then that was changed.)

@soar2newhighs Okay. So you do have a pretty good understanding of what it means. That's a good start. I read a rather lengthy article, allegedly from a former police officer, detailing the very toxic, trauma-based atmosphere in which they train police officers. Very much an "us vs the world" mentality, in which we civilians are referred to as sheep, too stupid to recognize the difference between wolves (criminals) and sheepdogs (cops). If the person who wrote the article is to be believed, that creates a massive amount of mistrust of civilians by cops, who are basically trained to treat us all as the enemy. That would be a huge part of the problem, if true.
@LordShadowfire I worked in emergency services as a firefighter for 33 years and worked with other first/ emergency responders. Saw and experienced enough to try and see different views on issues such as defunding the police.
