The DOJ and FTC need to investigate ebay/Craigslist scalping of supply chain shortfalls for insider trading.

It's more common im automotive parts and electronics as they go from limited availability to back order status meaning out of stock. Unlike the toilet paper panic buys during covid, these ebay Craigslist scalpers are people who work in warehousing and store inventory positions.

These people are commonly using inside knowledge of the shallow availability and buying up such items as common chips and automotive parts and then scalping them on ebay and Craigslist 30-90 days after all stores and warehouses run out.

That is insider trading and racketeering to say the least.

Unfortunately scalping has been around for ages. Concert tickets regularly get scalped.
The authorities need to crack down on scalpers.

@justanothername In this situation, the fact that it's people who work in positions involved in supply distribution with broad inside knowledge on an average of 4-6 months before it becomes a national crisis, I would consider it a form of insider trading.

I know with major league sports games, you can't just go out and buy a dozen tickets anymore because of scalping. You have to have names of who they are for.
