Did you know some countries have some sort of “morality police” ?

I knew this about Iran thanks to a journalist called Masih Alinejad. I've been following her since I was in high school and I always get goosebumps over the horrors that occur there for the simplest things. People get killed over a piece of cloth. As a western woman I wouldn't go there because out of respect for the victims and for my own moral code I wouldn't put the hijab on. I'm actually questioning the western public figures who identify as liberal and go there and happily abide by this law while the women of this country are suffering, especially when they claim to be feminists. If I lived there I like to think I'd take part in the movement against the regime.

I know they do. Some parts of the U.S. have what amounts to the same thing, and it’s not new. U.S. law at different times has determined who consenting adult citizens could marry, and what they were allowed to do in their own bedrooms. Now they again dictate what women and girls can do with their own bodies. We’re not as different as we’d like to think, and we seem to be regressing, if anything.
