If a descriptive word such as "cottagecore" is trademarked, does the trademark still apply in search tags?

Like lets say someone paints a pic that falls under the cottagecore genre, and sells it on merch, are they still allowed to use the search term "cottagecore"?

Would kinda be tricky if they can't, because descriptive words are just... well, just descriptions

Like vibrant or colourful are descriptions
I would assume a general word like colorful can't be trademarked, but if a certain genre is, then search terms are a gray area. You wouldn't be allowed to claim your work is in the trademarked genre, but maybe you could try to get into search results for it as an alternative.

That said, keywords aren't really used anymore for search engine optimization because it's too easy to use them to claim your page is about something it isn't. The page content is much more important than meta tags nowadays, or the keywords meta tag anyway.

@NerdyPotato yeah, it was more or less just for Redbubble keywords that I was thinking of using,

But with that being said, that place has become so overrun with bots and scammers trying to make a buck from selling stolen work and keyword stuffing 😔

...damn those dweebs are annoying
