Columbus' doesn't need an extra s. There's an unnecessary comma after #ColumbusDay and there is also an unnecessary comma before the '& celebrate.'

On an unrelated note, the Atlantic wasn't entirely unexplored at the time. That's not grammar though.

Language is a dynamic and constantly evolving thing, and there are lots of different approaches. I think so long as it flows well, it's fine. That’s my internal ruleset at least.
