How do English people know whether they're talking about a career or a spicy indian dish?

There's no punchline, I'm actually wondering.

Errr, perhaps because career and curry sound nothing like each other...?

If you happened to visit some English region whose local accent happens to make either sound like the other - and I do not know of such a region - the locals would still know the difference!

(I am English!)
@ArishMell No, I think you're lying
