What is your favorite accent of the English language?

@Justenjoyit LOL! There is no spoken language that has no accent!

We tend not to notice that of our own area so think we don't have an accent; but people from other regions will hear it.

@ArishMell I dont have an accent but you can tell I an English, I have not lived in England for over 40 years.

@Justenjoyit If others around you can tell you are English then you have at least some noticeable traces of accent from wherever is your native area of England! :-)

Mine sometimes puzzles people. English Northerners would say I sound Southern, and I am, both native and resident. I do not really notice the accents of local people around me; but some fellow-Southerners detect a Midland or Northern touch to my voice! My parents were from the Midlands, so I naturally picked up their accent traits.

You would not beable to tell where I lived in the UK I have a neutral accent

@Justenjoyit Oh, you probably would now, because you've been elsewhere for so long. You may well have absorbed some of that accent.

I wonder what would happen if you returned to live in your native area? Whether you original accent would soon return too? That is something I have sometimes wondered even of people who have not emigrated but have moved from one part of Britain to another with very different regional accents.

@Justenjoyit That sounds Southern English but I cannot place which part of the South - probably SE rather than SW.
