I Love the English Language

Has the present participle disappeared from use in America/Oz/NZ/Canada?

Are people ever 'sitting' anymore or are they always 'sat'?

Would you say:

I'm sat here. / I'm sitting here.

yes it should be I am sitting here, and when you have walked away, 'I sat there'. The thing I hate is actually the reverse, where historians use present tense for things that have occurred already :)
