I want to know why I started seeing television commercial in German and Spanish in the USA?

Now I really don't care what language. I understand German, Spanish as second language. But why now, television been in the USA since the late 1940s and became and staple in everyone home in late 1950s

Now Canada has a officially a duel language of English and French. So I can see them having television commercials in English and French

I recently signed up for Dish network and everything was in Spanish, I don't have working knowledge of Spanish and called them to complain that when I signed up I "Spoke" to the salesperson in English and chose the English button to speak to an English-speaking salesperson. So, why the heck was I receiving everything in Spanish including my bill. They switched my account over to English. Honestly it rather pissed me off.
we don't get commercials in french unless it's on a french channel....in my province anyways. what i am seeing are more and more commercials with interracial couples....

Your right, it is certain areas where there is a heavier Concentration of the French speaking. Like we have a place in the USA that is still very French

Like New Orleans Louisiana has a rich French heritage, particularly in the southern regions. Cajun and Creole cultures have preserved the French language, and there are communities where French is still spoken, especially in rural areas.
@HumanEarth yep...i've been to new orleans. when we did a swamp/gator tour the guide was actually acadian. gaves a a brief history. we didn't get to see any gators cus it was november and they were hibernating but he did have his daughter's baby gator pet on board that we got to hold. it was a nice tour actually. he reminded me of the crocodile hunter or crocodile dundee....but the alligator version 🙂
