What was the best way you learned a language

I use to speak quite a bit of Spanish. But I haven’t had anyone to talk fluently to. Now that I’m mostly in Spanish/English speaking cities I find it really needed. How did you learn your 2nd language.

I think one needs to take classes. Read and watch movies on that language. Then you need to practice it with other people. Immersion is very important.
