Old people really need to learn the meaning of emojis or stop using them.

My dad just send me this message:

I'm having my first coffee of the day. Sadly without 🥐. 😏

When I shared that in a group chat, someone said their mother confuses 😏 and 😒 and another one thinks her dad using "proud daddy" in his Twitter bio isn't the smartest choice.

@Elessar damn! And that one is obvious while writing it too. 😯

@deadgerbil Few things have damaged society as much as the 50+ joining Facebook, change my mind 🥴
@Elessar that's going to be a tough challenge.

Emojis are a sh-tty substitute for words in general. Take a few extra seconds to write a sentence, for the sake of unambiguous clarity.

Could be worse. I heard about a mom who texted her son while he was at the grocery store, reminding him to buy eggplant. She very innocently used the eggplant emoji, not realizing it has a double meaning. (Or does it even actually mean eggplant anymore?)
@LordShadowfire that reminds me of a someone thinking she said "lots of love" when sending her entire family "<name> has passed away, lol".
