How is what Trump's doing to Venezuela differ from what Obama and Hillary did in Libya?

The color of the ties is different.

1) They didn't go into Libya to control the country - didn't Trump say it would be under us authority

2) They had nothing to gain, but Trump does, Venezuela oil reserve said to be number one

Trump says US is taking control of Venezuela’s oil reserves. Here’s what it means | CNN Business https://share.google/X5UOYPicSbabvVvUH

TWO very huge differences

And it's no joke!
@Charity not taking Libya to control Libya? Lolz. Nothing will stop the Murkans!
Over and over your country kills all socialism and you're unaware. Nobody's buying it but y'all. So, you're good,! Keep going.

@Charity Sorry.. While you, and even Trump may believe that, you would both be wrong..Venezuelan oil is nasty, dirty stuff. And oil refineries are built to deal with specific oil types. You cant adjust them like ovens, to cook differently. The couple of refineries America has that could process this pirated oil are in Texas and busy processing Texas oil..Stopping oil companies making money on local production to put through someone elses stuff isnt going to happen. Even once you get the sludge out of the ground and onto a ship. There is no money in it..Maybe in a hundred years, when the price of oil has quintupled..
Even if they started today, the local works needed would take five years plus to construct. Trumps best option there is to keep pirating ships he cant process.😷

I don't know about oil and it's quality so I did a little research just now and I found that Venezuelan oil is usable. And the oil refineries that the US have in the Gulf can reduce the denseness and sourness of it.

And this report says that the Venezuelan oil benefits the US because the coastal oil refineries were made to refine heavy and sour crude from Venezuela and Mexico. And increasing the oil output and refinery would only take several years not hundreds.

Encyclopedia Britannica says petroleum not crude oil is Venezuela's leading export between 900,000 and 1.1 million barrels of oil per day in 2025. And that has dropped significantly from 1998 at 3.4 million barrels per day because most likely lack of maintenance / upkeep as some reports say.

So there is millions to be made from Venezuela's petroleum as well as crude oil.

When Trump makes a move he makes a move for money.

@Charity Yes. Most of that is corroborating what I said. The part you missed is that those US refineries are busy processing US oil from US wells.. You would be asking them to lose money by stopping their own production..😷

@Roundandroundwego

I'm asking what control does the US have in Libya?

What has the US gained from Libya?
@Charity smashing pan African economic independence was the main thing, as they clearly said.
But Americans agreed not to understand anything political about themselves, it's unheard of to know what Hillary and Obama said or did if it's not about "Orange Man bad me good!".
