American people are stressed and depressed, but it's not a sign of mental illness - it's the capitalist system without a welfare state.

But let's buy more psychiatric help for the poor, burning nation at work, living in the car.

In the last few years I have traveled around the U.S. What I saw disturbed me. I saw wide-spread homelessness, poverty, drug abuse and crime. Our people are demoralized, angry, and frightened.

We need to give our people a fair shake. We need to change our spending priorities. Currently we spend an astounding $800 billion on the military every year! This is insanity, this is thievery. We should be spending our wealth on programs of domestic improvement. As a society we need to invest in public services, job training and job placement programs, good public schools, affordable health care, especially mental health care.
@badminton yesterday I watched someone start to twitch and get very sick from something nasty in her opiates. It was one of the saddest things I ever saw. She was sort of okay after twenty minutes, but so exhausted it was scary.
I can't see us wasting that woman's day like that and getting away with it.
Omg. Everyone needs a break. She evidently needs clean opiates.
