I don't mind when people gift me the Holy Quran knowing I don't believe

What I don't get is why later they ask me if I read it yet?

Like it is going to be different than 13 other Qurans I have at home. 😂

You know Arabic, right? May I know why Quran only written in Arabic? Why they never put other native language to recite it?

I never understand the what am I recite unless I read the translation.

In Islam the miracle of the prophet is the Quran itself. Its style and grammar were formed in ways that aim to compete with the classical arabic poetry of the time. they believe its literary value can only be preserved if it remains in Arabic. And there is verse in the quran that reaffirms that the quran is arabic no other language.

In my opinion, it can serve to avoid losing power as a language. The existence of Quran in arabic empowers arabic as language and Arabism as culture and political movement.

The only time I read Quran is during Ramadan. Even then I can't finish 1/3 of it. My mom reads it everyday all year round and in Ramadan she can do it 7-8 times from cover to cover. When she asks me to read more in Ramadan trying to encourage me I ask her to dedicate one of her many khatmas to my soul 😝
