Ask me about Islam

As much as I joke and kid around, I also like to shares my way of life, connecting with God, beliefs, and hold some deeper convos :v

Don't be shy

Islam has 5 main pillars to even BE Muslim:

1. Belief in Allah being the only One, True, Only God worthy of worship and Muhammad was the last and final messenger
2. Prayer - God deserves to be prayed to and we pray out of His command alongside His deservingness
3. Charity - A portion of money must always go from the wealthy to the needy. This is that cleansing of the resources given by Allah
4. Fasting - We fast for Allah regardless of all the scienctific benefits of fasting
5. Visit Allah's established location of worship/pilgrimage - Again, done for Allah but it erases all your sins

Islam has 6 pillars of belief where it means you believe on TOP of your submission and worship:

1. Believe in Allah
2. Believe in His revelations
3. Believe in His angels
4. Believe in His messengers
5. Believe in His decree/command/order/defining of destiny
6. Believe in the Day of Judgement

Any deeper topics or questions, feel free to ask or dm if you're shy

I always want to keep the door open to what I believe is the best

Muhammad was the last and final messenger

So, I take it you don't believe Joseph Smith was the last prophet?
AverageMuslim · 26-30, M
@Northwest no. In Islam, we believe it's Muhammad عليه الصلاة و السلام (which translates to peace and blessings be upon him)

Are you Mormon? 👀
I actually haven't read all the materials from the LTS

And the way you asked that makes me think you have openness to the prophethood of Muhammad

@AverageMuslim No man, I'm just messing with you. I'm an Atheist, but during family celebrations, I'm either Jewish like my mom, or Catholic like my dad, but that's just for the high holidays.

I don't need to add another made up story to the list.
AverageMuslim · 26-30, M
@Northwest ya got me there 😂
And that was 10x funnier after missing the joke for some reason

I have so many interfaith conversations, so I can see the notion of lots of atheists when they say "made up"

And you can probably guess I'd say Islam is different. But what exactly was it that made you atheist? Or had it always been as such?

What does allah hoo akbar means and when you go boom? 💥
AverageMuslim · 26-30, M
@OriginalDumbMan let me know when you have a serious question
OriginalDumbMan · 36-40
@AverageMuslim you are just dodging. Do you get 72 in heavens? It is a serious question.
AverageMuslim · 26-30, M
@OriginalDumbMan I'm not dodging

Explain this:
and when you go boom?

What does that even mean? "When I go boom"

How am I supposed to answer something like that which I have no idea about

Do you get 72 in heavens?
To answer THIS since it's a real question, there's a weak narration that references that from what I recall of the dome ._.

But I'll need to revisit it

One thing all religions share is their belief they and they alone have the one true God.... There's a red flag right there
AverageMuslim · 26-30, M
@Convivial mostly. It would be a red flag in totality if there was no one true religion among them. Then it's a red flag. If there's one true religion, then that means the rest are just false

If 4 different people come to me to describe you, then there will be 4 perspectives. All can be accurate, none could be, or maybe somewhere in between

One thing that is 100% factual is that there cannot be wrong descriptions of you that we accept (since you can verify the truth behind it). And another thing is that 2 contradictory claims cannot be true (like saying you are blonde while another person says you're bald). And the only way to see which even was correct is to examine the truth against reality

There's only one reality, one truth, and any religion claiming to be from God should reflect that. And quite sadly, the acquaintance many people have with Islam is little and their dismissal is often from OTHER religions, which is a real red flag of its own regarding engagement with Islam in particular. It's the fastest growing religion and the only true one (obviously as I claim as a Muslim)

But you'd be shocked what you could learn from examining the other religious texts just by their textual preservation alone

@DangerGirl well, I would say it's not consolidating power into a single magical being

Rather, it's seriousness can be examined and externally verified with any and all rational applications. Such that the Qur'an fits the criteria of the message from the Creator, the prophet showed signs of prophethood, and the content is for anyone and is perfectly preserved for all of mankind

Reducing it from that to the notion of humans making that consolidation rather than it really being from Allah smuggles in the wrong perspective into the assessment and conversation. And it makes perfect sense that psychologically the creation would find the true religion from their Lord clicking with how they're created
DangerGirl · 22-25, FNew
@AverageMuslim Revealed versus created religion is a matter of perspective, yet a predictive analytical model is useful in other ways.
AverageMuslim · 26-30, M
@DangerGirl only about as much perspectives allow us. Facts would be hard to consider perspective, especially for scientifically minded people (with you mentioning psychology, I take it you're about proofs, thoughts, and evidences rather than perspective)

If a human couldn't create the Qur'an, it forces the thinker to posit where such knowledge comes feom
