I Am Enjoying Being A Muslim

Oftentimes you can tell through the course of conversations that atheism isn't about rational arguments nor is it about scientific evidence, this is really about "why can't I party like everybody else". It just oozes out, it's not even hidden. Because once you start breaking apart the intellectual disagreements, then the argument comes "but I don't feel like this is something I want to do".

When you say "feel".. "want" .. you're not talking your brain, you're talking your heart. And your heart is all that's matter on Judgement Day.

[Quran 26:89]

"إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى اللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ"
"When the only one who will be saved is the one who comes before God with a heart devoted to Him."

It's as if faith, when it comes to our minds, it is guidance and light, at the same time it's a reformation to the heart and a purifier for it. That's what faith is supposed to be. If it's not heartfelt, we're going to stay in loos.

The problem with faith is that it exists in all religions so if you were going to subscribe to a religion how would you know which one is correct, they say different often conflicting things but expect you to believe it on faith which makes them all equal and there is no way to tell which is right.

And of course there are all the things we found that shows there were several different species of humans who roamed the earth and we are the ones that survived. You don't see that accounted for anywhere in religion because the knowledge of this did not exists when the religious texts were written.

I am afraid what makes the most sense is the saying that the purpose or religion is to explain things that you do not understand and to control the behavior of people.

It is not necessarily a bad thing many good things come of religion.

@Subsumedpat I did not say that. I believe that The Creator is One, so the path (religion) to The Creator is also One. I believe it's Islam. Islam means complete submission to the will of The Creator to acquire inner peace. I'm Muslim because Islam makes sense to me, and I could not find a better way of life or religion.

For your case, though, if you don't believe in the existence of God, then there's no point to discuss which religion is the right one. It's like someone who want to write without knowing alphabets.

I'm an atheist because I like to live my life in the reality of facts.
But if faith is enough for someone, good luck to them.

@FreeSpirit1 It's well a established scientific fact that the universe had a beginning, this leaves us with four options:

1. The universe was created by nothing.
2. The universe created itself.
3. The universe was created by something created.
4. The universe was created by something uncreated.

Which option makes more sense to you and why?
