Food grade diatamaceous earth. You can sprinkle it around the plant and put it in the soil. It won't hurt the plant.

I dug out a plant from a traffic circle little garden because I liked its flowers. When I transformed it to my garden, I started noticing those little evil things.

I removed them manually. Rubbing alcohol and then spraying it all over..and then lot of coffee beans leftovers.

Haven't seen any in three months or so. I think alcohol kills most those nasty things.
