Back in the high school era we (the boys, of course) mastered the art of being as loud as possible while still remaining within the realm of plausible deniability (like, it still sounded natural enough that you could credibly deny it was intentional)

The most effective technique I remember was screaming a short but powerful "RAAAH!" during / immediately after the sneeze.
