I Tried Online Dating

A couple of days ago, I created an account on Tinder. I've never done the online dating stuff. I'm tired of being lonely. I know my wife wouldn't want me to sit around and be like this. I just want someone to call up and talk to, someone to watch a movie with, to go out to eat with. I don't know if anything will evolve beyond that, and that's fine. That's not what I'm looking for right now.

Has anyone here used Tinder? If so, how did it go?

*edit* My wife passed away a couple years ago. I'm not currently married and looking to date.

It’s my understanding that Tinder is more of a hook up platform. You may want to try something like OKCupid for friendly dating. EHarmony and match.com cost money, but because of that you’re more likely to meet someone who has their act together. Plentyoffish.com it’s a cesspool 😅

@DamnFeelz You're a wealth of information on this. Thank you! Before I met my wife, I had never dated. It was something I never cared much to pursue. Now that she's gone, I feel like I'm trying to fill a void in my life.

🤷🏻‍♀️😅 I’ve done a bit of dating and learned some valuable lessons from my mistakes 😆

My biggest mistake was making my profiles about about my interests, which are many, but don’t necessarily matter to me,
Stuff I used to be into that isn’t really relevant to my present life anymore,
or things I would like to do that wasn’t going on yet in the foreseeable future.
It was too wide of a net. A lot of people replied that like certain things they read, but we didn’t have very much in common on a deeper, fundamental level.

I would be clear in your profile that “you’re not big on causal dating, but just looking to make some happy memories with someone like go hiking etc and see where it goes” It’s honest in that it doesn’t promise a relationship mode, but also comes off nice (aka not a douche just out to date casually/get laid) @ChickenNugget

@DamnFeelz I appreciate the advice. Thank you! 🙂

If you're married, fix things with your wife instead

Online dating sucks to start with, but a man who is married and doesn't see the value does not understand the pain or those who want nothing more upon the earth than a loving wife, nor the pain they would cause their wife doing such things

@ChickenNugget then what you need, before you are ready to lead a woman, is to come to the knowledge of the truth

You have been kind to me, so I do not see it that you would reject the word if you knew it to be true

The events written in the Revelation are currently underway, reading enough to understand would show proof because of the number of specific signs that were fulfilled so recently

@th3r0n I was in church for 20 years before leaving. I appreciate what you're telling me, but I doubt my mind will change, although I'm open to anything someone wants to share with me. I don't mind when people want to pray with me, as long as it's a display of genuine concern. Compassion is something we always need more of.

@ChickenNugget brother, the saddest thing is that you do not find the word of God in churches most times anymore, you find empty words with no power

If this were all that there is to find, I would have left also, but despite all the empty there was a youth minister full of fire that spoke to me in my youth, and I became baptized and filled with fire, I felt that fire which surrounded us all at that Christian work camp go inside of me and never leave

I have since cast out demons in his name and prayed for thousands of things if not millions, and he has shown his power over and over

I pray you do not let a watered down weak gospel ruin you for the gospel of truth that holds all power

I’m confused, your wife doesn’t want to sit up and talk, watch movies etc?
Mindful · 56-60, F
@ChickenNugget okay. So sorry. It makes sense. When I was single I thought of starting a movie date app. But so many people lie online. I’m not a software app designer. But I think it would serve a good purpose . Facebook promotes meet ups. Meet ups is safer as it’s a group of people who want the same.

@Mindful I didn't know Facebook had stuff like that. I only have family members on there, and I rarely use it.

Do a yahoo search on “local meetups” there are sooo many.... it might be Yahoo! Sorry@ChickenNugget
