When dating online, how long is a good amount of time to talk to someone before meeting in person?

It depends on how good both parties are at messaging. I wouldn’t waste more than a few weeks without meeting or moving on. Sometimes they’re great at communicating through texts but then when you meet they can’t hold a conversation.

Most men lie to. You’ll get ghosted a lot.

Always meet somewhere public and tell someone where you’re going and who you’re seeing. Don’t go if they don’t plan a real date. I’m happy to pay my own way but I do think the guy should pay on the first date.

Sleep with them whenever you feel ready too. Don’t worry about these stupid rules that some people have. If sex is all they want they’ll leave after the first time whether it’s the first date or the 10th.

It is pretty hard to get to know someone online or on the phone, but I would have as much interaction as you feel comfortable with before you meet in person. I would also stalk any social media and look for red flags. The first in person meeting should be in a public place...like a busy restaurant for lunch. You should have friends or family know where you are and when they should expect to hear from you after the "date." DO NOT BE AFRAID TO GET UP AND LEAVE if during the interaction something goes wrong...also, I would be reluctant to share home addresses until you have met a couple times, simply because you never know.

In addition, I expect that you will provide me with the name and any details so if something goes wrong I can make a trip to Florida and off them for you.

Seriously though, I’d imagine it’s a comfort level thing. But make it a public place and have a friend to call with a hair emergency on standby if it’s going badly.

No experience with it yet. As a man and one capable of defending myself the safety aspects are a bit less at the fore for me as I would imagine it might be for most women.

It really depends. I know people say meet as soon as possible, but you are really going to have to prove you are worth my leaving my comfort space and inject myself into the discomfort of the public and new people. That could take a while.

In my past experiences at least a week, but then not too long because if you meet someone and there isn't any connection you can stop wasting your time earlier. Some people are nothing like they are on the phone in person.

When I met somebody from EP, it took months because she had to get herself ready to travel. Needless to say, we are still very close

Probably better to have a few small/short meetups with the person sooner than dragging it out online...like coffee quick...
