How do you feel about the decline of long-form posts?

Personally I've come to terms with it.

Literacy rates are extremely high; being able to write a lot is not a flex anymore.

And the modern world demands so much attention there isnt much left to waste.

I try to convey as much meaning in as little words as possible.

It's hard, though, having come from formal education. Word quotas and whatnot; we were taught the opposite.

What do you think?

Tbh ...i think literacy rates are dropping.

Its not just attention spans, its also the ability to write expressively and accurately.

People just dont take time anymore🤷‍♀
They have a thought, or see something....and it instantly gets transmitted.
Often with no literacy needed: (memes, gifs, screenshots etc...).

Reading comprehension is down too. I cant tell you how many times i see posts or questions, and people reply, but they don't actually answer the question.
Sometimes they dont even stick to the post topic😏

Some people are 'kinda' literate.
Like.....they know the spelling of the words, but any sort of grammar is beyond their capabilities.
- its just this big "WAD" of text.😂

Then there is 'intent'.

Too many post for "something to distract themselves". There is no deeper meaning, or personality to what they write. Its just something to do so they dont have to think or feel.

On a side note....its nice to see this art isnt completely lost.

Good for you 💪🤗
