Don't Fall For QR Code And "Tap" Scams

Criminals have been going around, replacing bar codes at restaurants/tourist spots, with their own.

You scan the QR code, and it takes you to their site where they will try to syphon your passwords, by asking you to re-enter the password, or something like that.

Make sure the QR code has not replaced.

Another very potent attempt to separate you from your money, is replacing the wireless tap sticker with their own. The minute you tap our phone or card, it's going to steal whatever it can, and there will be no interaction with you.

You should try to see if yo can peel the sticker, the fake stuff is easily peel'able.

Credit card companies are working on solutions, but in the meanwhile...

Yeah I heard about that in the news a few weeks back. Thanks for the heads up. I think the older generations who dont frequent the internet need to be told about this aswell.

@Matt85 the older generations are more weary of anything new. This is targeted at the younger generations.

@Matt85 The Boomers can afford to lose a few bucks.

@GeistInTheMachine Please. The vast majority are poor.

Only less than 1% of 8.2 billion are considered very wealthy. And that is everyone on this earth.

@GeistInTheMachine Bank details though, they could siphon their whole livelihood.

@GeistInTheMachine just the USA...

@DeWayfarer I wonder who made it that way in the USA? Hmm. 🤔

Which generation had a hand in that?
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@GeistInTheMachine the very same people that have it of course.

It doesn't make it right however.

@GeistInTheMachine No lion in the wild will kill off a whole herd.

That type of wealth does.

@DeWayfarer Let Mammon and Moloch have their pound of flesh.

@GeistInTheMachine No. Such devil's will be removed eventually. Just a matter of time.

Even Blake was criticizing that type of wealth with that saying.

Without Contraries is no progression. Attraction and Repulsion, Reason and Energy, Love and Hate, are necessary to Human existence.

From these contraries spring, what the religious call Good and Evil. Good is the passive that obeys Reason; Evil is the active springing from Energy. Good is Heaven; Evil is Hell.

The most sublime act is to set another before you. Let the fool hold his own, and let Mammon and Moloch have their pound of flesh.

There's no balance in that type of wealth.

AI analysis

Yes, that's a key interpretation of Blake's phrase "Let Mammon and Moloch have their pound of flesh."

It suggests a critique of the imbalance and moral compromise that often accompany extreme wealth and the pursuit of material gain.

Imbalance in Extreme Wealth

Moral Sacrifice: The phrase implies that in the quest for wealth (Mammon) and the demands of a ruthless system (Moloch), individuals may sacrifice their values, ethics, and even their humanity.

This reflects a significant imbalance where the pursuit of wealth overshadows moral considerations.

Societal Consequences: Blake's work suggests that extreme wealth can lead to societal harm, as the demands of Mammon and Moloch often require individuals to exploit others or compromise their integrity.

This creates a cycle of inequality and suffering.

Lack of Spiritual Fulfillment: The focus on material wealth can lead to a neglect of spiritual and emotional well-being.

Blake advocates for a more balanced approach that values personal insight and spiritual growth over mere financial success.

In essence, Blake's critique highlights the dangers of allowing extreme wealth to dictate moral and ethical standards, suggesting that true fulfillment comes from a balance between material and spiritual pursuits.
