@Mamapolo2016 The card catalog was a wonder...everything by Title, by Author, then in various places by the very rich Subject index...

Between that, Books in Print, and The Reader's Guide to Periodical Literature, one had very powerful tools at one's disposal, aided by research libraries, inter-library loan, and the Federal document depositories.
@SomeMichGuy Suddenly I’m smelling printer’s ink and dusty paper and our library.

It's nice to know others who are aware of the full-sensory experience of real libraries...

@Mamapolo2016 @SomeMichGuy All those things bring back great student-day memories, but the best resource in the Library was always the Librarian. They could always get you to where you needed to be.
