Is anyone else having trouble with the internet, overall?

EXTREMELY long loading periods...almost ALL sites. I heard about the worldwide internet interruption, flights cancelled because of ONE IT company going down. It didn't seem to affect too much at first...but this loading issue is very frustrating!

I'm up on the northeast as well, but haven't noticed any kind of internet issues.

If you're having internet issues, first check your connection at https://www.speedtest.net

So let's say your plan is for 200mb download and 13mb upload, and your numbers from the test are 80mb download and 3 upload, you are going to want to restart the modem and router or modem/router combo, whichever one you have. I have a modem/router combo, so it's just one device.

If you have one device for internet, just unplug it. Set a 2 minute timer and press start. When the two minutes is up, plug your device back in and give a window of 10 minutes just for the device to fully boot. It might not take 10 minutes to come back up, but I've found if I give myself at least 10 minutes, it's usually up within about 3 to 5 minutes.

If you have a modem and a router, unplug both devices for 2 minutes. Plug in the modem first. Wait for the modem to fully boot back up, and then plug the router in last.

@4meAndyou Awesome! Glad it worked for ya! Yeah, from what I've been told, it's a good thing to restart the modem/router at least once a month. But usually what I do is, if I start having problems, I just do a reset then and there. With our new device, we can get a 5G band, but there were some times where it would say, internet not available, and a modem/router device restart is what it needed.

@4meAndyou Oh oh, one other thing..... internet in your area might be getting worked on. The old device we had, was at least 10 to 15 years old, all of a sudden it kept losing connection. After we bought the new device, we were STILL having the same problems. Apparently, something in the area was being worked on, but everything has been fine for the past 3 months now.

It never hurts to check in with your ISP or even see in your local area if something is being worked on that could be affecting services if you continue to have problems.

@twiigss Will do. Intermittent lack of connectivity has been plaguing me even prior to the loading issue...so...I will try to call them. Extremely frustrating, though...calling their robot.
