Is there anything we can do to stop people using the name Karen in a derogatory way?

My mum's name is Karen and I don't like to see her name treated like this. What started it anyway? Who is the mysterious Karen it was named after?

Not certain exactly how it was started, yet I do know that it was before this site was started in 2016. The term exploded on twitter because of hashtags. Then spread from there like wildfire.

I remember this because my neighbor then was called Karen.

I was on FB then and it passed there from Twitter not reddit.

@DeWayfarer Reddit was started long before twitter, they used it in their elaborate "I Don't Work Here Lady", "No HOA", and other subreddit stories, which most were heavily embellished for points.

Twitter was responsible for the explosion! Because of their abilities!

@DeWayfarer Bullshit, as I said reddit existed BEFORE twitter, and was using Karen way before they came into existence.

You can't. Because reddit, like this site, can't save videos! Same with hashtagging and retweets.
