This is what I dont get about the internet...

How someone can appear interested then go quiet for weeks then start being interested again (romantically) if i find someone romantically interesting the interest doesn't die until i find someone or we argue. I can't switch it off.

What I have learned about internet and people... mostly nothing real in connections is going to happen.
I've met one person I first met on internet and it was really awesome. :)
Otherwise, most aren't looking or expecting anything real or lasting. It's a game and I don't play it anymore. I don't believe in things quite the way I use to, especially since being on this site.
