How could I forget, there is a post moaning about it every second day here.

Yes. I used for a couple of years or so but gave it up, well before it closed, as it seemed fading into stupidity, shallowness and sleaze.

In fact some of its contents were such that though I avoided or harshly criticised those threads, I felt it potentially dangerous to be associated with the site.

I noticed too a peculiar, specific form of on-line bullying. I enjoy a good ghost-story, knowing they are all fantasy, so read some of the posts on "seances" and the like. In time I realised some contributors seemed to believe in ghosts so frightened themselves too much, partly by mutual peer assistance. The bullies were others who delighted in reinforce these impressionable ones' fear by gravely "confirming" they were indeed playing with supposedly real and dangerous things.

That, and other behaviour elsewhere on EP, particularly that extolling domestic violence and oppression, made me realise what was no doubt started in all good faith was going downhill, and I jumped off.
