I don't find tomato and mayo sandwiches bland at all, myself. Toasted bread, a little salt, and a good tomato are important factors, though. The tomatoes found in grocery store chains rarely qualify as good tomatoes, I've found.

Just tomato and mayo does seem a little scant. When my brothers and I were kids, our mom would make lettuce, tomato and mayo sandwiches for us. It was just a BLT without the B. Not too bad if you're hungry, though.

@Penny 🤔i suppose if you went too buy a pre packed sandwich and that was the only choice i am sure if you where hungry enough you would bite the bullet and eat it

Salt enhances the tomato flavor, using an appropriate bread also better. I'd eat a tomato and mayo sandwich before a lettuce sandwich

toasted white bread, salt & pepper and MUST be a fresh garden tomatoe. if its too bland for you add a slice of american cheese.

Mayo, thinly sliced tomato, salt and pepper = amazing sandwich. But to each their own.

One of my friends gets a fresh garden tomato, puts a glob mayo and eats. Then adds salt pepper and repeats till gone
