Any child that wins a debating competition is highly likely to grow up to be an insufferable twat.

Being good at debating and being right are completely different things and so many people don't get that.

Went to listen to one when our high school that i graduated from came to my college. The opposing team's first speaker went on and on about the topic at hand. Jumping from one topic and argument to the next. The first kid from the other side simply asked, "what's the first thing you said?". I had to run out of the room I was laughing so hard.
