@OceanRoses I have been also that with the apricots, but still couple weeks more worth of harvest.
I thought the cherry season over there (US) is on its midst? You guys usually start after me with three weeks. Maybe I am mistaken

from another part of the world that sounds so wow ... love this idea of harvesting fruits..but of course from the inside everything is different!
Lovely to have infinite amounts of cherries though <3 how many hours per day do you work? also do you have other fruit trees or cultivate other things?

@being It is not regular schedule because I have another job. Can be 5 hours to 18 hours depending on what needs be done in the farm.
Yes, I have peaches trees, vines, apples, apricots, plums, pomegranate, olives, karob, pears, loquat, figs, barbarian fig, strawberries, watermelons for now.
And veggies.
And animals for personal consumption only. Used to have more but couldn't really maintain everything alone. It is too much work but a blessing to be able to serve nature in some way and be able to be little more independent.
I have workers though and lot people who help out.

How do you protect your cherries from pests? We struggle with larvae in fruits every year. 😕
Miram · 31-35, F
@CrazyMusicLover
I use sticky tapes and cups with water and sweeteners as traps for bugs , I set them up April to May end.
Also only trees varieties that start rippin around now are vunerable to those flies. The varieties I harvested earlier in June and late May started ripping way before the flies population was around so I didn't need place any traps for them.

@Miram That's basically how it's here too. Early cherries never have bugs. I remember that when I was a small kid we only had early types and never had issues with them. Now we only have the late types. We put on sticky tapes this year but maybe not enough of them and maybe it was too late already.

@CrazyMusicLover hey 😅 I forgot to mention that overwatering fruit trees after the fruit start forming kind encourages the flies to settle around.
I am not sure how and why that is but it is an observation I have had over the years.
